The hot summer days are one of the things that every hijabi hates, primarily because of the state our hair would be in, due to the sweat, oil, etc. Finding the right hijab fabric can also be a challenging task. Some people swear by modal fabrics, praising its breathability. Others are loyal chiffon fans, due to its elegant style. One fabric that has been overlooked is jersey, specifically VELA Jersey Lite. Today’s blog post will focus on the Jersey Lite Collection and some styling tips!

Jersey Lite

VELA has designed the Jersey Lite line with the intention of creating a breathable and easy to style fabric. Unlike traditional jersey scarves, jersey lite is exactly as the name suggests- LIGHTWEIGHT! Jersey is generally a fabric that people avoid wearing in the summer, especially if you are working out at the gym, because while it is easy to style, it is still heavy and can cause some people to feel more heat when they wear it. Jersey Lite is a hybrid fabric because it is a combination of both modal and jersey, which is why the fabric itself is lightweight and perfect for the summer!

Pinless Style

Jersey is one of the most versatile fabrics in that it truly can be styled any way, and you don’t have to use pins/magnets either! 

For this pinless style, simply drape the hijab over your head with one short side and long side. Take the long side and wrap it over the short side, bringing it over your shoulder, and simply tuck the excess fabric under your chin. This style is quick and easy, especially if you’re running late.

Earrings Style

This hijab style is perfect for showing your earrings! Simply drape the hijab with both ends having equal length. Place your earrings over the hijab fabric, and take one side of the hijab, pinning it to the undercap and throw it over your shoulder. With the other side, take the outer part of the hijab and loosely drape it over your shoulder. The style not only provides full coverage, but an elegant touch to flaunt your earrings!
