At VELA, we believe community and solidarity are more than just words. It's how we show up for one another with our actions. Since our founding, our mission has been to create a space of inclusivity, belonging, and representation for all Muslims, across different cultures, races, and backgrounds.
ROOTED IN SOLIDARITY
Thanks to the support of our community, we’ve been able to give back and stand with causes close to our hearts:
- $200K+ donated to Palestinian aid and relief.
- $15K+ donated to Black-led organizations across the U.S.
- $10K+ donated to Sudan relief.
- $7K+ donated to Yemen humanitarian relief.
- $5K+ donated to organizations supporting Uyghur Muslims.
- $15K+ donated to Kashmir relief.
- $9.5K+ donated to Afghanistan relief.

COMMUNITY IN ACTION
Our work doesn’t stop at donations. We believe in building and fostering spaces of belonging and inclusivity:
- Hijab Days at Schools: Partnering with schools like Islah Academy to gift scarves and create safe spaces for young Muslim girls to embrace their faith.
- Unity Gatherings: Hosting community events with organizations like CAIR that bring Muslims of all backgrounds together to connect, uplift, and celebrate one another.
- Workshops & Pop-Ups: Creating third spaces for learning, connection, and creativity in our local communities.
- Representation: From our models and our team, to our collaborations and partnerships, we work with and spotlight a diverse mix of Muslim women to represent and celebrate all identities within the Ummah, especially those that are often underrepresented in the modest fashion industry.
