The best thing about the hijab is that there isn’t just ONE way to wear it, rather there are so many styles for hijabs that allow women to wear it according to their face shape. For women who are considering wearing the hijab, it can be a bit overwhelming to find the right material and style for their hijab and I hope that this blog post will simplify the process and make the journey for wearing the hijab easier for everyone inshallah!

Understanding Your Face Shape

Have you ever seen a hijab style on social media or a YouTube tutorial and realized that the same hijab style didn’t look as good as you thought it would? The reason behind this is primarily due to your face shape and the hijab style. For example, my face shape is oval and unfortunately square hijabs don’t look as great on me as they would on another face shape.

Round

If your face is round shaped, then the best hijabs styles for you would be to wear it a bit tighter around the sides of your face, or with a square hijab and folding it in a triangular style. We recommend you to check out VELA’s square size scarves!

Square 

If your face is square shaped, then the best hijabs styles for you would be to wear it loosely around the sides of your face and jawline. It is also best if you wear lighter fabrics like modal or chiffon. We recommend our Crinkle Chiffon scarves!

Heart

If your face is heart shaped, then the best hijabs styles for you would be to wear it tightly or wrap it a few times to add dimension to your face. Another tip is to accessorize with earrings!
