This classic print comes in lush shades of green and neutrals, like a serene meadow field. The paisley motif, known as buta/boteh, has long been woven into the cultural fabric of Kashmir. With its curved, droplet-like form, the design merges elements of a floral spray and a cypress tree, symbols of life and eternity rooted in Persian influence. In Kashmir, this motif took on new life through the art of pashmina weaving, becoming a staple of intricate shawls and cultural heirlooms, passed down through generations and worn during life’s most meaningful moments.
With VELA’s paisley collection, we’re honoring the rich history and origins of this motif, while also recognizing the ongoing occupation of Kashmir and the resilience of its people. With this Boteh-inspired pattern, we aim to pay tribute to the artistry, identity, and enduring spirit of the region.
Our signature modal fabric is made from a natural, plant-based fiber (a refined form of viscose), chosen for its softness, breathability, and drape. Sustainably sourced, and ethically created.

VELA ships worldwide. All additional taxes, customs, and import duties are the responsibility of the customer. We do however do our best to minimize your costs upon arrival in your country.
