Jambu Merah or “Pink Guava” blends playfulness, nostalgia, and Malaysian artistry. Designed by Malaysian artist Azzah Sultan, whose creative practice examines intergenerational relationships, materiality, and the unknown, this print draws from her mother’s fashion and the fruit-rich visual landscape she grew up around. Hues of green, pink, and vibrant magenta mix with traditional batik motifs and digitally reframed archival textures. Vibrant yet grounded, it’s crafted on our signature modal fabric, offering soft, breathable comfort in a playful statement.
Jambu Merah is a Malaysian artist hijab and pink guava–inspired modal hijab, featuring batik print details on lightweight modal fabric for everyday comfort and style.
A portion of proceeds from each hijab will be donated to Azzah’s charity choice -Sadaqaat USA - to support Sudan relief.

Artist Inspiration
Azzah is heavily influenced by her mother’s fashion, fruits, materiality, and the unknown, which is seen through her performance work that investigates
intergenerational relationships. Jambu Merah (Pink Guava) reflects her use of
Malaysian pattern making and the adornment of traditional batik fabric. Distortion of archival footage and digital reframing of mixed media are all factors in her practice.

So highly underrated. Quality is great, this is a soft vela that is not super see through and also not too thick at all. The pattern… the artist did her big one. The colors actually match so much and it’s such a fun vibe. The fact she selected a Sudani charity is what sealed the deal for me. Jazakum allah khayrun to her and to Vela for this whole initiative or spotlighting cultures and supporting them too. Gorgeous gorgeous scarf 😍
