To Our Beloved Moms, Happy Mother’s Day.

To Our Beloved Moms, Happy Mother’s Day.

Today, as the world pauses to celebrate Mother’s Day, we are reminded of one of life’s greatest blessings: the love of a mother. It's a love that begins before we take our first breath and never truly ends, one that echoes through her prayers, her sacrifices, her sleepless nights, and her quiet strength.

In Islam, the status of a mother is elevated to one of the highest honors. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ once said, "Paradise lies beneath the feet of your mother" (Ahmad, An-Nasai). These words are not just a poetic phrase—they’re a sacred reminder of the value, reverence, and compassion owed to the women who nurtured us.

On this day, and every day, we are called to reflect on the mercy our mothers have shown us, and to give back to them with love, kindness, and respect. Islam teaches us that serving our mothers is not just a virtue—it is a path to Paradise. When a man asked the Prophet ﷺ who is most deserving of his good companionship, the Prophet replied, Your mother.” He repeated it three times before saying, Then your father. (Bukhari & Muslim)

As Muslims, every day is an opportunity to honor our mothers. Whether by offering a smile, a heartfelt prayer, a helping hand, or simply spending time with her—our deeds, no matter how small, carry weight when done with sincerity and love.

But today gives everyone a special chance to be intentional.

So, let us take a moment to:

  • Make du’a (prayer) for our mothers—those with us and those who have returned to Allah.

  • Forgive and reconnect, if distance or disagreements have grown.

  • Serve with joy, whether it’s through preparing her favorite meal, running an errand, or just sitting and listening to her beautiful stories.

  • Reflect with gratitude on all the unseen sacrifices she made.

To every mother reading this: may Allah reward you for every tear, every prayer, every ounce of patience. May He bless your health, elevate your status, and surround you with barakah in this life and the next!

And to those whose mothers are no longer with them—may Allah have mercy on their souls, illuminate their graves, and reunite you in Paradise where there is no more parting.

Happy Mother’s Day! 🤍 In every language, culture, and faith, one truth remains: a mother’s love is a miracle we must never take for granted.
