Last year, the VELA team contributed $50,000, and this Ramadan, they’re doubling down with another $50,000, all raised through proceeds from the Palestine Capsule Collection.

Providing Emergency Relief for Afghanistan

Millions in Afghanistan, mostly women and children are struggling with severe hunger and poverty. Nearly 29 million people face food insecurity, with many unable to afford basic necessities.

VELA is taking action by donating 100% of proceeds from their Afghan Firoza print to the World Orphanage Foundation, supporting emergency food relief and water well projects. Through their efforts, over 50 water wells have been built, and a school now provides education for 850 children who otherwise would not have access to learning. 

"The impact is already evident," shared WOF Founder and President Angela Azar. "One of our graduates, after completing her education, opened her own school at home, teaching 40 young girls who would otherwise have no access to learning. Others have used their education to become teachers, support their families, and pass on knowledge to siblings and neighbors, fostering a ripple effect of empowerment."

For one of their students, learning to read and write was a life-changing experience sharing that "it was as if I was blind before I came to the school, and now I can see.”
