THE CAUSE
During the month of Ramadan, all Blossom hijab proceeds will go towards HHRD’s Sudanese Refugee Relief. From providing clean water and food to distributing hygiene kits and clothes, Helping Hand’s efforts are comprehensive to provide comfort during unimaginably difficult times.
VELA has been continuously contributing to solidarity initiatives for countries such as Palestine, Afghanistan, etc. and this Ramadan, they are eager to collaborate with HHRD to provide humanitarian aid to our fellow brothers and sisters in Sudan. Each Blossom hijab purchase can provide a month’s supply of food for a child in Sudan.
The Messenger (PBUH) said: "Whoever helps his brother in his time of need, Allah will be there in his time of need." (Hadith Muslim)
THE FACTS
Volatile situations in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, have led to widespread civil distress. Civilians are fleeing areas affected by fighting in increasing numbers. High inflation and civil distress have contributed to the perilous conditions in Sudan, as civilians are facing food insecurity and homelessness.
Sudan faces the largest internal displacement crisis in the world. Since April of 2023, 7.1 million people have been forced to flee their homes due to the war in Sudan. Nearly 3.4 million young children are malnourished and have developed illnesses such as cholera.
